The Abduction of Psyche

This cake is my way of paying tribute to my favorite work of art.  “The Abduction of Psyche” by William-Adolphe Bouguereau.
Entered in the San Diego Cake Club’s “Confections on Parade” contest, May 2007.
Fondant covered with royal icing accents.  Hand painted background.  Figures are modeled from a fondant/gumpaste mixture.
